Seiko factory service
Seiko warrants its watches for three years from purchase from Seiko or an authorized dealer. In the US, warranty work is mailed to the SWA Service Center at 2 Park Way, Suite 2A, Upper Saddle River, New Jersey, with the Certificate of Limited Warranty. The owner pays postage and insurance. Seiko notes that a routine overhaul on a watch with no fault is charged, even inside the warranty period. Seiko also says repairs should be done by technicians trained on its own tools.
Independent Seiko service
The warranty does not cover work by anyone outside Seiko's authorized service network, so use Seiko while the watch is covered. After that, an experienced independent is a common choice, especially for vintage automatics and dive watches.
