Breitling factory service
Breitling recommends two levels of service. A maintenance service every 2 years checks the movement and functions, replaces all seals and tests water resistance. A complete service every 4 to 6 years adds full disassembly, cleaning, replacement of standard movement parts, lubrication and adjustment, plus case and bracelet polishing. Breitling also recommends a water resistance test every year, because case gaskets dry out over time.
Breitling publishes maximum service prices for the US, and owners can check a quote online by entering the watch's serial number or model reference. Watches with a Breitling Manufacture movement carry a 5-year warranty; other Breitling watches carry 2 years.
Independent Breitling service
Breitling's warranty does not cover damage from anyone other than an authorized Breitling service center working on the watch. For a watch under warranty, use Breitling. Once it is out of warranty, an experienced independent is a reasonable choice, especially for older chronographs.
