Oster Jewelers is an independent watch and jewelry boutique in Denver's Cherry Creek North, run by Jeremy and Melissa Oster. Czapek, Armin Strom, MING and Moritz Grossmann each name it as an authorized retailer, so it can take those watches in for factory service.

Moritz Grossmann Watch Repair & Service
Moritz Grossmann is an independent manufacture in Glashütte, Germany, that builds its own movements and hands. The brand has no US service center and no US office. Its own guidance names only two places authorized to service a Moritz Grossmann watch: the manufacture's service department in Glashütte, and the retailer where the watch was bought. For a US owner, that means the watch goes back to the selling retailer or directly to Germany.
Moritz Grossmann factory service
The brand's service page states: "Only these are the addresses authorized to service your watch: The service department of the Moritz Grossmann manufacture in Glashütte, Uferstraße 1, 01768 Glashütte, service@grossmann-uhren.com" and "The retailer, where you have actually purchased your Moritz Grossmann model."
Recommended intervals, in the brand's words: a leak-tightness check "at regular intervals of at most two years", during which the authorized service center should also verify "spring bars, leather strap, clasp, and caseback screws", and a full movement service "every three to five years", when the movement is cleaned and the lubricants renewed.
Warranty: the General Terms and Conditions of the brand's online boutique state "The guarantee period shall be 2 years starting with the date of purchase." Under those terms, repair of a defect is carried out by Grossmann, and the customer may choose between repair and a replacement watch. The terms do not list exclusions, and they do not say what happens to the guarantee if a third party opens the watch.
To request service, contact the service department at service@grossmann-uhren.com or go through the retailer that sold the watch. The main company line is +49 35053 32 00 0 (Grossmann Uhren GmbH, Uferstrasse 1, 01768 Glashütte, Germany). The brand does not publish service prices, turnaround times, shipping instructions or who pays for transport to Glashütte.
Moritz Grossmann at a US retailer
Because the brand limits authorized service to the manufacture and the selling retailer, a US authorized retailer is in practice an intake point: it takes the watch in and sends it to Glashütte. The brand's points-of-sale locator lists seven US retailers (Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts and New York). It names none of them as a service center, and it describes retailers only as places to see and buy the watches. If you bought your watch somewhere else, ask the retailer first whether it will take it in, or contact the manufacture directly.
Moritz Grossmann uses its own in-house calibers, so an independent watchmaker will not have brand-supplied parts. If a watch was bought secondhand, the "selling retailer" route may not apply; ask the manufacture directly.
Before you ship, ask
- Will the work be done at your bench, or sent to the brand? If it is sent on, does the quote add a fee on top of the brand's charge?
- Are you authorized by Moritz Grossmann, or will service here void the warranty?
- Did I buy this watch from you? If not, will you still accept it as an intake point, and does the manufacture need to approve that first?
- Who insures the watch in transit to Glashütte and back, and is that cost included in the estimate?
- Can you give me the manufacture's estimate in writing before any work starts, and the expected turnaround?
Providers on this page were researched against our Standard at the time they were listed and are rechecked periodically. Details can change between checks, so confirm terms, pricing and turnaround directly with the provider before sending your watch.
