Omega factory service
Omega recommends a complete service every 5 to 8 years, and a water-resistance check every year. How often depends on how the watch is worn. New watches carry a 5-year international warranty against material and manufacturing defects. Each service or repair by an authorized Omega service center carries a 24-month warranty. Omega also offers restoration for older watches.
Omega will only service watches built entirely with matching Omega parts. It may refuse a watch that contains counterfeit or altered components.
Independent Omega service
Omega's warranty is void if anyone not authorized by Omega works on the watch. Omega is a Swatch Group brand, and since January 1, 2016 the group has supplied spare parts only to repairers it has approved for a parts account. Once a watch is out of warranty, a skilled independent is still an option, especially for vintage Speedmasters and Seamasters. Ask how the shop sources parts, because non-original parts can affect whether Omega will service the watch later.

- Is my watch still under Omega's 5-year warranty? If so, use Omega first.
- Do you hold a Swatch Group parts account, or how do you source Omega parts?
- For vintage pieces: will you keep the original dial, hands and bezel?
- Will I get a written estimate before work starts?
